Journal ArticleDOI
Quenching quorum-sensing-dependent bacterial infection by an N -acyl homoserine lactonase
TL;DR: The acyl-homoserine lactonase (AHL-lactonase), a new enzyme from Bacillus sp.
Journal ArticleDOI
The hierarchy quorum sensing network in Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
TL;DR: Quorum sensing, a cell density-based intercellular communication system, which plays a key role in regulation of the bacterial virulence and biofilm formation, could be a promising target for developing new strategies against P. aeruginosa infection.
Journal ArticleDOI
AiiA, an enzyme that inactivates the acylhomoserine lactone quorum-sensing signal and attenuates the virulence of Erwinia carotovora
TL;DR: The results indicate that the AI-inactivation approach represents a promising strategy for prevention of diseases in which virulence is regulated by AIs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cell–cell signaling in Xanthomonas campestris involves an HD-GYP domain protein that functions in cyclic di-GMP turnover
Robert P. Ryan,Yvonne Fouhy,Jean F. Lucey,Lisa Crossman,Stephen Spiro,Ya Wen He,Lian-Hui Zhang,Stephan Heeb,Miguel Cámara,Paul Williams,J. Maxwell Dow +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the role of RpfG is to degrade the unusual nucleotide cyclic di-GMP, an activity associated with the HD-GYP domain.
Journal ArticleDOI
Acyl‐homoserine lactone acylase from Ralstonia strain XJ12B represents a novel and potent class of quorum‐quenching enzymes
Yi-Han Lin,Jin-Ling Xu,Jiangyong Hu,Lian-Hui Wang,Say Leong Ong,Jared R. Leadbetter,Lian-Hui Zhang +6 more
TL;DR: LC‐MS analyses demonstrated that expression of AiiD in Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 quenched quorum sensing by this bacterium, decreasing its ability to swarm, produce elastase and pyocyanin and to paralyse nematodes.
