Journal ArticleDOI
The measurement of fatigue: a new instrument
TL;DR: A 29-item fatigue assessment instrument is presented, its psychometric properties are described, and it is used to differentiate normal fatigue from fatigue related medical disorders.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fatigue therapy in multiple sclerosis Results of a double‐blind, randomized, parallel trial of amantadine, pemoline, and placebo
Lauren B. Krupp,P. K. Coyle,Carol Doscher,Aaron E. Miller,Anne H. Cross,Lina Jandorf,June Halper,Britt A. Johnson,Linda Morgante,R. Grimson +9 more
TL;DR: Amantadine was significantly better than placebo in treating fatigue in MS patients, whereas pemoline was not, and the benefit of amantadines was not due to changes in sleep, depression, or neurologic disability.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Group-Based Medical Mistrust Scale: psychometric properties and association with breast cancer screening.
TL;DR: Results support the validity of the GBMMS and its association with breast cancer screening adherence and may be used to further investigate medical mistrust as a barrier to screening for cancers for which ethnic group disparities have been observed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Improved fecal DNA test for colorectal cancer screening.
Steven H. Itzkowitz,Lina Jandorf,Randall E. Brand,Linda Rabeneck,Paul C. Schroy,Stephen J. Sontag,David A. Johnson,Joel Skoletsky,Kris Durkee,Sanford D. Markowitz,Anthony P. Shuber +10 more
TL;DR: An improved fecal DNA test that incorporates only 2 markers shows much higher sensitivity for CRC and is easier to perform and should be less costly, thereby facilitating its use for noninvasive CRC screening.
Journal ArticleDOI
Use of a patient navigator to increase colorectal cancer screening in an urban neighborhood health clinic
TL;DR: A PN system successfully increases CRC screening rates among a predominantly minority population of low socioeconomic status in a minority community health setting.
