Treatment and Clinical Outcomes of Transcatheter Heart Valve Thrombosis
Azeem Latib,Toru Naganuma,Mohamed Abdel-Wahab,Haim D. Danenberg,Linda Cota,Marco Barbanti,Helmut Baumgartner,Ariel Finkelstein,Victor Legrand,José Suárez de Lezo,Joelle Kefer,David Messika-Zeitoun,Gert Richardt,Eugenio Stabile,Gerrit Kaleschke,Alec Vahanian,Jean Claude Laborde,Martin B. Leon,John G. Webb,Vasileios F. Panoulas,Francesco Maisano,Ottavio Alfieri,Antonio Colombo +22 more
TL;DR: THV thrombosis is a rare phenomenon that was detected within the first 2 years after transcatheter aortic valve implantation and usually presented with dyspnea and increased gradients, and anticoagulation seems to have been effective and should be considered even in patients without visible thrombus on echocardiography.
Journal ArticleDOI
Combined treatment of heavy calcified femoro-popliteal lesions using directional atherectomy and a paclitaxel coated balloon: One-year single centre clinical results.
Angelo Cioppa,Eugenio Stabile,Grigore Popusoi,Luigi Salemme,Linda Cota,Armando Pucciarelli,Vittorio Ambrosini,Giovanni Sorropago,Tullio Tesorio,Alessia Agresta,Giancarlo Biamino,Paolo Rubino +11 more
TL;DR: Combined use of DA and DCB may represent a potential alternative strategy for the treatment of femoro-popliteal severely calcified lesions and very promising data and the considered hypothesis have to be confirmed in a multicentre randomised trial.
Journal ArticleDOI
Drug-eluting balloon for treatment of superficial femoral artery in-stent restenosis.
Eugenio Stabile,Vittorio Virga,Luigi Salemme,Angelo Cioppa,Vittorio Ambrosini,Giovanni Sorropago,Tullio Tesorio,Linda Cota,Grigore Popusoi,Armando Pucciarelli,Giancarlo Biamino,Paolo Rubino +11 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that adjunctive use of drug-eluting balloons for the treatment of SFA-ISR represents a potentially safe and effective therapeutic strategy and should be considered hypothesis-generating to design a randomized trial.
Journal ArticleDOI
Acute left main obstructions following TAVI.
Eugenio Stabile,Giovanni Sorropago,Angelo Cioppa,Linda Cota,Marco Agrusta,Vincenzo Lucchetti,Paolo Rubino +6 more
TL;DR: As the use of TAVI becomes widespread, the operators should be aware of this dangerous complication in their case preparation should it arise and perform an aortography at the time of balloon valvuloplasty to identify patients at risk for coronary obstructions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Conventional surgery and transcatheter closure via surgical transapical approach for paravalvular leak repair in high-risk patients: results from a single-centre experience.
Maurizio Taramasso,Francesco Maisano,Azeem Latib,Paolo Denti,Andrea Guidotti,Alessandro Sticchi,Vasileios F. Panoulas,Gennaro Giustino,Alberto Pozzoli,Nicola Buzzatti,Linda Cota,Michele De Bonis,Matteo Montorfano,Alessandro Castiglioni,Andrea Blasio,Giovanni La Canna,Antonio Colombo,Ottavio Alfieri +17 more
TL;DR: A transcatheter closure via a surgical transapical approach (TAp) approach appears to be a safe and effective therapeutic option in selected high-risk patients with PVL and is associated with a lower hospital mortality than surgical treatment, in spite of higher predicted risk.
