TL;DR: For patients with standard indications for ICD therapy, no indication for cardiac pacing, and an LVEF of 40% or less, dual-chamber pacing offers no clinical advantage over ventricular backup pacing and may be detrimental by increasing the combined end point of death or hospitalization for heart failure.
Journal ArticleDOI
The DAVID (Dual Chamber and VVI Implantable Defibrillator) II trial.

TL;DR: Atrial pacing may be considered a "safe alternative" when pacing is desired in defibrillator recipients, but affords no clear advantage or disadvantage over a ventricular pacing mode that minimizes pacing altogether.

Increased Durability of Fidelis Leads in Resynchronization Systems
TL;DR: In this high-risk HF population, patients with reduced baseline eGFR and elevated baseline BNP, lower QRS duration or non- or negative-responders were almost 2-3 fold more likely to have an early adverse outcome (transplant or die at 1 year).
