Frequency of peripartum cardiomyopathy.
Lisa Mielniczuk,Kathryn Williams,Darryl R. Davis,Anthony S.L. Tang,Robert Lemery,Martin S. Green,Michael H. Gollob,Haissam Haddad,David H. Birnie +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, a population-based study of the incidence, mortality, and risk factors for peripartum cardiomyopathy (PC) in the United States was conducted.
Journal ArticleDOI
Allograft Vasculopathy: The Achilles’ Heel of Heart Transplantation
TL;DR: Treatment approaches continue to evolve, but prevention remains the focus, and newer mammalian target of rapamycin inhibitors can significantly delay the progression of CAV; however, their optimal use remains to be established.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide comprehensive recommendations and practical tips for the pharmacologic management of patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) including angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitors, sinus node inhibitors, sodium glucose transport 2 inhibitors, and soluble guanylate cyclase stimulators.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Use of Noninvasive Ventilation in Emergency Department Patients With Acute Cardiogenic Pulmonary Edema: A Systematic Review
Sean P. Collins,Lisa Mielniczuk,Heather A. Whittingham,Mark E. Boseley,David Schramm,Alan B. Storrow +5 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that noninvasive ventilation with standard medical Therapy is advantageous over standard medical therapy alone in ED patients with acute cardiogenic pulmonary edema.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Association Between High-Dose Diuretics and Clinical Stability in Ambulatory Chronic Heart Failure Patients
Lisa Mielniczuk,Sui W. Tsang,Akshay S. Desai,Anju Nohria,Eldrin F. Lewis,James C. Fang,Kenneth L. Baughman,Lynne W. Stevenson,Michael M. Givertz +8 more
TL;DR: High-dose diuretics may be more of a marker than a cause of instability in chronic heart failure, and a history of HF stability during the past 6 months is associated with an 80% lower risk of an HF event during the next year, independently of baseline diuretic dose.
