Journal ArticleDOI
Anatomic versus physiologic assessment of coronary artery disease. Role of coronary flow reserve, fractional flow reserve, and positron emission tomography imaging in revascularization decision-making.
K. Lance Gould,Nils P. Johnson,Timothy M. Bateman,Rob S. Beanlands,Frank M. Bengel,Robert M. Bober,Paolo G. Camici,Manuel D. Cerqueira,Benjamin J.W. Chow,Marcelo F. Di Carli,Sharmila Dorbala,Henry Gewirtz,Robert J. Gropler,Philipp A. Kaufmann,Paul Knaapen,Juhani Knuuti,Michael E. Merhige,K.Peter Rentrop,Terrence D. Ruddy,Heinrich R. Schelbert,Thomas H. Schindler,Markus Schwaiger,Stefano Sdringola,John Vitarello,Kim A. Williams,Donald Gordon,Vasken Dilsizian,Jagat Narula +27 more
TL;DR: The basic concepts that hold true for whatever technology measures coronary physiology directly and reliably are clarified, here focusing on positron emission tomography and its interplay with intracoronary measurements.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impaired myocardial flow reserve on rubidium-82 positron emission tomography imaging predicts adverse outcomes in patients assessed for myocardial ischemia.
Maria C. Ziadi,Robert A. deKemp,Kathryn Williams,Ann Guo,Benjamin J.W. Chow,Jennifer M. Renaud,Terrence D. Ruddy,Niroshi Sarveswaran,Rebecca E. Tee,Rob S. Beanlands +9 more
TL;DR: Routine assessment of (82)Rb PET-quantified MFR could improve risk stratification for patients being investigated for ischemia and predicts hard cardiac events and MACE independent of the SSS and other parameters.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Use of 18F-FDG PET in the Diagnosis of Cardiac Sarcoidosis: A Systematic Review and Metaanalysis Including the Ontario Experience
George Youssef,Eugene Leung,Ilias Mylonas,Pablo B. Nery,Kathryn Williams,Gerald Wisenberg,Karen Y. Gulenchyn,Robert A. deKemp,Jean N. DaSilva,David H. Birnie,George A. Wells,Rob S. Beanlands +11 more
TL;DR: The high diagnostic accuracy determined for 18F-FDG PET in this metaanalysis suggests potential value for diagnosis of cardiac sarcoidosis compared with the MHLW guidelines.
Journal ArticleDOI
F-18-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography imaging-assisted management of patients with severe left ventricular dysfunction and suspected coronary disease: a randomized, controlled trial (PARR-2).
Rob S. Beanlands,Graham Nichol,Ella Huszti,Dennis Humen,Normand Racine,Michael R. Freeman,Karen Y. Gulenchyn,Linda Garrard,Robert A. deKemp,Ann Guo,Terrence D. Ruddy,Francois Benard,Andre Lamy,Robert M. Iwanochko,Parr Investigators +14 more
TL;DR: This study did not demonstrate a significant reduction in cardiac events in patients with LV dysfunction and suspected coronary disease for FDG PET-assisted management versus standard care, but in those who adhered to PET recommendations and in patients without recent angiography, significant benefits were observed.
Journal ArticleDOI
ASNC imaging guidelines/SNMMI procedure standard for positron emission tomography (PET) nuclear cardiology procedures.
