Genomic cloning of methylthioadenosine phosphorylase: a purine metabolic enzyme deficient in multiple different cancers
Tsutomu Nobori,Kenji Takabayashi,Phuoc T. Tran,Lisa Orvis,Ayse Batova,Alice L. Yu,Dennis A. Carson +6 more
TL;DR: Results indicate that MTAP deficiency in cancer is primarily due to codeletion of the MTAP and p16 genes.
Journal Article
Gene cloning and characterization of Pseudomonas putida L-methionine-alpha-deamino-gamma-mercaptomethane-lyase.
TL;DR: Cloned the l-methioninase gene from Pseudomonas putida and isolated pure and abundant recombinant enzyme will allow in vivo studies on the antitumor activity and the potential toxicity of enzymatic methionine depletion.
Journal ArticleDOI
A polymerase chain reaction-based method for isolation of gene-specific sequences from the interferon-α gene cluster
TL;DR: Since a variety of human cancers has been found to have the complete or partial deletion of the interferon-α gene cluster, the gene-specific probe generated by this method may aid in determining the breakpoints in the vicinity of the gene cluster.
