Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis of cluster compounds via nucleophilic metal complexes; X-ray crystal structures of [Os3Pt(µ-H)2(CO)10{(C6H11)3P}] and [Os2Pt2(µ-H)2(CO)8(Ph3P)2]
Louis J. Farrugia,Judith A. K. Howard,Pachanee Mitrprachachon,John L. Spencer,F. Gordon A. Stone,Peter Woodward +5 more
TL;DR: The dihydrido complex [H2Os3(CO)10] reacts with [Pt(C2H4)2(R3P]], [Ni(C 2H4)(Ph3P)2], and [Rh(acac)2] as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clerodane diterpenoids and an ursane triterpenoid from Salvia haenkei. Computer-assisted structural elucidation
Giovanna R. Almanza,Luisa Balderrama,Cecilia Labbé,Catherine Lavaud,Georges Massiot,Jean-Marc Nuzillard,Joseph D. Connolly,Louis J. Farrugia,David S. Rycroft +8 more
TL;DR: The structures of ent-clerodane diterpenoids were derived from 1H and 13C NMR data using an automatic structure elucidation computer program as discussed by the authors, and the stereochemistry of the triterpenoid is 3-oxours 12-ene-1β,11α-diol 9.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and x-ray crystal structure of a polymeric iodobismuthate anion
TL;DR: In this article, the reaction between [CH2=C(C6H4-4-NO2)CH2NMe3]I and eight equivalents of BiI3 in thf (tetrahydrofuran) afforded, after work-up, dark red crystals of the compound [CH 2=C 6H 4-4NO2]n[{Bi2I7}n], the structure of which was established by X-ray crystallography and shown to contain a polymeric iodobismuthate anion.
Journal ArticleDOI
Metal–metal bonding in bridged ligand systems: experimental and theoretical charge densities in Co3(μ3-CX)(CO)9 (X = H, Cl)
Louis J. Farrugia,Cameron Evans +1 more
TL;DR: Farrugia et al. as mentioned in this paper showed that there is no direct bonding between the Co atoms, since no (3, 1) bond critical point in the density ρ is observed and hence no bond path exists between the metal atoms.
Journal ArticleDOI
Half-sandwich Ru(η6-C6H6) complexes with chiral aroylthioureas for enhanced asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of ketones – experimental and theoretical studies
Mani Mary Sheeba,Sankaranarayanan Preethi,A. Nijamudheen,M. Muthu Tamizh,Ayan Datta,Louis J. Farrugia,Ramasamy Karvembu +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the catalytic activity of RuCl2(η6-C6H6) with chiral aroylthiourea ligands yielded pseudo-octahedral half-sandwich "piano-stool" complexes.
