Journal ArticleDOI
Dereplication strategies in natural product research: How many tools and methodologies behind the same concept?
TL;DR: Five distinct dereplication workflows that can be characterized by the nature of starting materials, by the selected analytical technique, and above all by the final objective are brought to light.
Journal ArticleDOI
NMR Metabolomics to Revisit the Tobacco Mosaic Virus Infection in Nicotiana tabacum Leaves
Young Hae Choi,Hye Kyong Kim,Huub J. M. Linthorst,Johan Hollander,Alfons W.M. Lefeber,Cornelis Erkelens,Jean-Marc Nuzillard,Robert Verpoorte +7 more
TL;DR: The use of NMR spectroscopy in combination with multivariate data analysis to study the metabolic changes connected with tobacco mosaic virus infection and systemic acquired resistance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hydrolysis of wheat bran and straw by an endoxylanase: production and structural characterization of cinnamoyl-oligosaccharides.
TL;DR: The primary structure of the new feruloyl arabinoxylopentasaccharide from wheat bran hydrolysis, which has been determined using 2D NMR spectroscopy, is O-beta-D-xylopyranosyl-(1-->4)-O-[5-O- (feruloyL)-alpha-L-arabinofuranosyl-[1-->3], which is closer to the former than the latter.
Journal ArticleDOI
Accelerating Metabolite Identification in Natural Product Research: Toward an Ideal Combination of Liquid Chromatography-High-Resolution Tandem Mass Spectrometry and NMR Profiling, in Silico Databases, and Chemometrics.
Jean-Luc Wolfender,Jean-Marc Nuzillard,Justin J. J. van der Hooft,Jean-Hugues Renault,Samuel Bertrand +4 more
TL;DR: The current possibilities and limits of such methods and the workflows for manual and automated NP annotations are assessed by equally treating the MS and NMR approaches that are both key for the "as confident as possible" NP annotation in crude natural extracts.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genetic and Biochemical Evidence for the Involvement of α-1,4 Glucanotransferases in Amylopectin Synthesis
Christophe Colleoni,David Dauvillée,Grégory Mouille,Alain Buléon,Daniel J. Gallant,Brigitte Bouchet,Matthew K. Morell,Michael S. Samuel,Brigitte Delrue,Christophe D'Hulst,Christophe Bliard,Jean-Marc Nuzillard,Steven G. Ball +12 more
TL;DR: A novel mutation in the Chlamydomonas reinhardtii STA11 gene results in significantly reduced granular starch deposition and major modifications in amylopectin structure and granule shape, which leads to the accumulation of linear malto-oligosaccharides.
