TL;DR: In this paper , the authors evaluated the associations between dietary iron intake with major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) and iron status biomarkers and found that higher haem iron intake was associated with increased risks of five-point MACE, four-point MC, CCF, coronary revascularisation, and/or ischaemic stroke.
