Journal ArticleDOI
Coronavirus Disease 2019 Patients in Earlier Stages Exhaled Millions of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 Per Hour.
Jianxin Ma,Xiao Qi,Haoxuan Chen,Xinyue Li,Zheng Zhang,Haibin Wang,Lingli Sun,Lu Zhang,Jiazhen Guo,Lidia Morawska,Sergey A. Grinshpun,Pratim Biswas,Richard C. Flagan,Maosheng Yao +13 more
TL;DR: COVID-19 patients recruited in Beijing exhaled millions of SARS-CoV-2 RNA copies into the air per hour, and exhaled breath samples had the highest positive rate, suggesting breath emission may play an important role in the CO VID-19 transmission.
Journal ArticleDOI
On airborne transmission and control of SARS-Cov-2.
TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper showed that the spread of SARS-Cov-2 was reduced by increasing ambient ozone concentration level from 48.83 to 94.67μg/m3 and decreasing relative humidity from 23.33 to 82.67% (p-value ǫ= 0.002) and temperature from −13.17 to 19°C)
Journal ArticleDOI
Breath-, air- and surface-borne SARS-CoV-2 in hospitals.
Liang Zhou,Maosheng Yao,Xiang Zhang,Bicheng Hu,Xinyue Li,Haoxuan Chen,Lu Zhang,Yun Liu,Meng Du,Bochao Sun,Yunyu Jiang,Kai Zhou,Jie Hong,Na Yu,Zhen Ding,Yan Xu,Min Hu,Lidia Morawska,Sergey A. Grinshpun,Pratim Biswas,Richard C. Flagan,Baoli Zhu,Baoli Zhu,Wenqing Liu,Yuanhang Zhang +24 more
TL;DR: While there is a critical need for strengthening hospital discharge standards in preventing re-emergence of COVID-19 spread, use of breath sample as a supplement specimen could further guard the hospital discharge to ensure the safety of the public and minimize the pandemic re- emergence risk.
Posted ContentDOI
Exhaled breath is a significant source of SARS-CoV-2 emission
Jianxin Ma,Xiao Qi,Haoxuan Chen,Xinyue Li,Zheng Zhan,Haibin Wang,Lingli Sun,Lu Zhang,Jiazhen Guo,Lidia Morawska,Sergey A. Grinshpun,Pratim Biswas,Richard C. Flagan,Maosheng Yao +13 more
TL;DR: The results imply that airborne transmission of SARS-CoV-2 plays a major role in COVID-19 spread, especially during the early stages of the disease.

TL;DR: In this paper, the highest positive rate (26.9%, n=52), followed by surface swabs (5.4, n=242), and air samples (3.8), n=26).
