Journal ArticleDOI

Telomere length and its associations with oxidized-LDL, carotid artery distensibility and smoking.

TL;DR: Higher level of oxidized-LDL, is associated with shorter WBC telomeres and increased stiffness of the carotid artery, and smoking is marked by increased oxidative stress in concert with shortened W BC telomere length.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quality of life and antihypertensive effect with nebivolol and losartan.

TL;DR: Overall quality of life parameters and the effect on sexual function did not differ between the two treatments and less patients had headache with nebivolol than with losartan after 6 weeks of monotherapy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Naftidrofuryl for intermittent claudication.

TL;DR: Oral naftidrofuryl has a statistically significant and clinically meaningful, although moderate, effect of improving walking distance in the six months after initiation of therapy for people with intermittent claudication.
Journal ArticleDOI

Benzodiazepine use in Belgian nursing homes: a closer look into indications and dosages

TL;DR: Efforts to reduce the use of BZD/Zs in nursing homes should concentrate on insomnia, with interventions aimed at reducing too high prevalence of chronic use and too high daily dosages in this indication.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of central pressure estimates obtained from SphygmoCor, Omron HEM-9000AI and carotid applanation tonometry.

TL;DR: The results from this study demonstrate that the considerable difference between the central pressure estimates of Omron HEM-9000AI and SphygmoCor is due to algorithm differences, and suggest that the overestimation by OmronHEM- 9000AI is larger than the underestimation by SphyGmoCor.
