Moxifloxacin dosing in post-bariatric surgery patients
Pieter Colin,Douglas J. Eleveld,Michel Struys,Michel Struys,Huybrecht T'jollyn,Luc M. Van Bortel,Johannes Ruige,Jan J. De Waele,Jan Van Bocxlaer,Koen Boussery +9 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the probability of target attainment for bacterial eradication against a hypothetical Streptococcus pneumoniae infection is compromised in patients with higher LBM, especially when targeting microorganisms with minimum inhibitory concentrations, and the need for a LBM based individualized dosing of moxifloxacin in this patient population is emphasized.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multicenter Randomized Double-Blind Comparison of Nebivolol plus HCTZ and Irbesartan plus HCTZ in the Treatment of Isolated Systolic Hypertension in Elderly Patients: Results of the NEHIS Study.
Guido Grassi,Gino Seravalle,Gianmaria Brambilla,Raffaella Dell'Oro,Fosca Quarti Trevano,Francesco Fici,Luc M. Van Bortel,Giuseppe Mancia +7 more
TL;DR: Comparisons of antihypertensive efficacy, tolerability, and side effects profile in elderly patients with isolated systolic hypertension provide evidence that NH reduces office BP more than IH but has similar effects on 24-h BP.

Direct Measurement of Local Arterial Stiffness and Pulse Pressure
TL;DR: Local arterial stiffness assesses stiffness at a cross section of an artery as mentioned in this paper, where the change in cross-sectional area can be calculated from diameter and diameter change, and the local vessel wall properties distensibility coefficient (DC) and crosssectional compliance (CC) can also be calculated.
