Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental study of the ion critical-gradient length and stiffness level and the impact of rotation in the JET tokamak.

TL;DR: Plasmas with higher values of toroidal rotation show a significant increase in R/LTi, which is found to be mainly due to a decrease of the stiffness level, which has implications on the extrapolation to future machines of present day results on the role of rotation on confinement.
Journal ArticleDOI

MARTe: A Multiplatform Real-Time Framework

TL;DR: The Multithreaded Application Real-Time executor (MARTe), a framework built over a multiplatform library that allows the execution of the same code in different operating systems, is currently being used to successfully drive the plasma vertical stabilization controller on the largest magnetic confinement fusion device in the world.
Journal ArticleDOI

Real-time control of the q-profile in JET for steady state advanced tokamak operation

TL;DR: In this article, a truncated singular value decomposition (TSVD) of a linearized model operator and retaining the distributed nature of the system have been implemented in the JET control system.
Journal ArticleDOI

A model-based technique for integrated real-time profile control in the JET tokamak

TL;DR: In this paper, a distributed real-time controller is proposed for the JET tokamak to control multiple coupled plasma profiles simultaneously, with some degree of fuzziness to let the plasma evolve towards an accessible non-linear state which is the closest to the requested one.
