This study applies a life cycle assessment (LCA) to the shared dockless standing e-scooter system that is established in Brussels. The results are given for four impact categories: global warming potential (GWP), particulate matter formation, mineral resource, and fossil resource scarcity. Regarding GWP, the use of the shared e-scooters in the current system causes 131 g of CO2-eq. per passenger-kilometer while the mode of transportation displaced has an impact of 110 g of CO2-eq. Thus, at present, the use of e-scooters shows a higher impact than the transportation modes they replace. The high results for the shared e-scooter, in terms of GWP, are mainly caused by the short lifespan of the shared e-scooter. Nevertheless, as the market further matures, the lifespan of e-scooters could increase and the impact per kilometer travelled could decrease accordingly. Regarding the use of the personal e-scooter, the LCA results show an impact of around 67 g of CO2-eq. This study quantifies the LC impacts of the current situation based on local, ‘real-life’ data. However, potential changes on soft mobility patterns induced by the use-oriented product-service system (PSS), such as a shared e-scooter system, could not be quantified.

Dockless E-Scooter: A Green Solution for Mobility? Comparative Case Study between Dockless E-Scooters, Displaced Transport, and Personal E-Scooters

Die Diplomarbeit behandelt das Thema Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), dessen Bedeutung in West-Europa und Ost-Asien und die unterschiedliche Schwerpunktsetzung in CSR Aktivitaten in Bezug auf die drei Triple-Bottom Line Bereiche (Okonomie, Okologie, Soziales) Es wird dargestellt, in welchen Bereichen sich Unternehmen innerhalb des nationalen Rahmens engagieren sollen, nicht jedoch, inwieweit Unternehmen diese Vorgaben und Richtlinien tatsachlich umsetzen 
Bei CSR handelt es sich um ein Thema von unterschiedlichem Verstandnis, resultierend aus einer Unzahl an Definitionen, Motivationen und gepragt vom jeweiligen Kontext, in dem CSR praktiziert wird Trotz der grosen Unterschiede, die das Konzept mit sich bringt, ist es jedoch moglich zahlreiche Merkmale festzustellen, die CSR spezifisch sind, wie zum Beispiel die Freiwilligkeit und die Ausrichtung nach Stakeholder Interessen und weitere Dennoch ist es jedem einzelnen Unternehmen selbst uberlassen einen Code of Conduct, unter Anlehnung an national relevanten Richtlinien, zu erstellen und sich in seiner Geschaftstatigkeit daran zu halten Es ist daher auch wenig verwunderlich, dass dem Konzept von CSR zahlreiche Kritik entgegen gebracht wird Nicht zuletzt wegen der unterschiedlichen Auslegungen des Konzeptes CSR und der Frage, ob es uberhaupt in den Aufgabenbereich der Unternehmen fallt sozial und okologisch verantwortlich zu handeln 
Zusammenfassend ist festzustellen, dass CSR mit Beginn des 21 Jahrhunderts zunehmend an Beachtung gewinnt Es ist schwierig allgemeingultige Aussagen uber CSR in West-Europa und Ost-Asien zu treffen, da die Auslegung beziehungsweise das Verstandnis von CSR nicht nur zwischen Regionen unterschiedlich ist, sondern auch zwischen den einzelnen Landern und deren Unternehmen Diese hohe Flexibilitat und Anpassungsfahigkeit des Konzeptes CSR kennzeichnet dessen Starke und Schwachstelle zugleich 
Generell festzustellen ist jedoch, dass West-Europaische Lander dem CSR Leitbild der Europaischen Union mit dem Ziel der Nachhaltigen Entwicklung folgen, wahrend in Ost-Asien die Lander separat ihre Prioritaten festlegen Weiters ist festzustellen, dass wahrend in West-Europaischen Landern der Staat im Bereich CSR eine entscheidende Rolle einnimmt, in Ost-Asien das Feld tonangebenden Institutionen und Organisationen uberlassen wird Auf Grund der detaillierten Untersuchung der Beispiellander Deutschland und Frankreich stellvertretend fur West-Europaische Lander und Japan und Sud Korea fur Ost-Asiatische Lander, ist festzustellen, dass in jedem Land der Fokus auf unterschiedlichen Schwerpunkten liegt

Quality 4.0 not only concerns the things happening inside a factory; it also includes the complete supply chain from Research and Development (R&D), manufacturing, development, distribution, sales, and service after-sales.
