International veterinary epilepsy task force consensus proposal: diagnostic approach to epilepsy in dogs.

TL;DR: This consensus article represents the basis for a more standardised diagnostic approach to the seizure patient and will evolve over time with advances in neuroimaging, electroencephalography, and molecular genetics of canine epilepsy.
Journal ArticleDOI
International Veterinary Epilepsy Task Force consensus proposal: medical treatment of canine epilepsy in Europe
Sofie Bhatti,Luisa De Risio,Karen R. Muñana,Jacques Penderis,Veronika M. Stein,Andrea Tipold,Mette Berendt,Robyn Farquhar,Andrea Fischer,Sam Long,Wolfgang Löscher,Paul J J Mandigers,Kaspar Matiasek,Akos Pakozdy,Edward E. Patterson,Simon R. Platt,Michael Podell,Heidrun Potschka,Clare Rusbridge,Holger A. Volk +19 more
TL;DR: This consensus proposal for drug treatment protocols is based on current published evidence-based literature, considers the current legal framework of the cascade regulation for the prescription of veterinary drugs in Europe, and reflects the authors’ experience.
Journal ArticleDOI
Association of clinical and magnetic resonance imaging findings with outcome in dogs with presumptive acute noncompressive nucleus pulposus extrusion: 42 cases (2000–2007)
TL;DR: Results of multivariate analysis suggested that maximal cross-sectional area of the intramedullary hyperintensity on transverse T2-weighted MR images was the best predictor of outcome.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dorsal laminectomy for caudal cervical spondylomyelopathy: postoperative recovery and long-term follow-up in 20 dogs.
Luisa De Risio,Karen R. Muñana,Michelle Murray,Natasha J. Olby,Nicholas J.H. Sharp,Paul Cuddon +5 more
TL;DR: Dorsal cervical laminectomy is an effective treatment for CCSM in those dogs with dorsal compression or multiple sites of involvement and long-term outcome and recurrence rates were comparable to those seen with other surgical techniques for C CSM.
