Journal ArticleDOI

Creation of quark–gluon plasma droplets with three distinct geometries

Christine Angela Aidala, +316 more
- 01 Mar 2019 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors report on the observation of elliptic and triangular flow patterns of charged particles produced in proton-proton (p+p), deuteron-gold (d+Au), and helium-Gold (3He+au) collisions at a nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass energy.
Journal ArticleDOI

The spin-dependent structure function of the proton g(1)(p) and a test of the Bjorken sum rule

M.G. Alekseev, +231 more
- 05 Jul 2010 -
TL;DR: The first moment of Δ q 3 is in good agreement with the value predicted by the Bjorken sum rule and corresponds to a ratio of the axial and vector coupling constants | g A / g V | = 1.28 ± 0.02 as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

First Measurement of Transverse-Spin-Dependent Azimuthal Asymmetries in the Drell-Yan Process

M. Aghasyan, +221 more
TL;DR: The first measurement of transverse-spin-dependent azimuthal asymmetries in the pion-induced Drell-Yan (DY) process is reported and the observed sign of the Sivers asymmetry is found to be consistent with the fundamental prediction of quantum chromodynamics (QCD) that the Siver TMD PDFs extracted from DY have a sign opposite to the one extracted from semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering (SIDIS) data.
Journal ArticleDOI

The spin structure function gp1 of the proton and a test of the Bjorken sum rule

C. Adolph, +210 more
- 10 Feb 2016 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the double spin asymmetry and the proton longitudinal spin structure function g(1)(p) were obtained by the COMPASS Collaboration using polarised 200 GeV muons scattered off a longitudinally polarised NH3 target.
Journal ArticleDOI

Collins and Sivers asymmetries in muonproduction of pions and kaons off transversely polarised protons

C. Adolph, +211 more
- 01 May 2015 -
TL;DR: In this article, measurements of the Collins and Sivers asymmetries for charged pions and neutral kaons produced in semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering of high energy muons off transversely polarised protons are presented.
