Journal ArticleDOI
Recent developments in the direct-current geoelectrical imaging method
TL;DR: There have been major improvements in instrumentation, field survey design and data inversion techniques for the geoelectrical method over the past 25 years as mentioned in this paper, which has made it possible to conduct large 2D, 3D and even 4D surveys efficiently to resolve complex geological structures that were not possible with traditional 1-D surveys.
Journal ArticleDOI
Resistivity monitoring for leakage and internal erosion detection at Hallby embankment dam
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used time-lapse inversion to focus the variation over time and suppress artefacts due to the resistivity structure of Hallby dam, and found that increasing long term resistivity has been noticed in a particular zone in the left embankment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Noninvasive monitoring of DNAPL migration through a saturated porous medium using electrical impedance tomography.
TL;DR: Despite significant measured phase changes due toDNAPL contamination, the differential phase images revealed only weak anomalies associated with DNAPL flow; these anomalies could be seen only in the initial stages of the experiment during peak flow through the plane of electrodes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fast computation of optimized electrode arrays for 2D resistivity surveys
TL;DR: Four different methods to automatically select an optimal set of array configurations that gives the maximum subsurface resolution with a limited number of measurements for 2D electrical imaging surveys were tested, confirming that the models generated by the CR method have the best resolution.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electrical-resistivity characterization of an industrial site using long electrodes
TL;DR: An electrical resistivity survey at the T tank farm at the Hanford nuclear site in Washington State, U.S.A. as mentioned in this paper was performed to define the lateral extent of waste plumes in the vadose zone in and around the tank farm.
