Singly-resonant optical parametric oscillation based on the wide band-gap mid-IR nonlinear optical crystal LiGaS2

TL;DR: In this article, the authors demonstrate optical parametric oscillators based on the wide band gap LiGaS2 (LGS), pumped by 100-Hz/8-ns and 1-kHz/1-ns laser sources at 1064nm.
Journal ArticleDOI

LaserBreeze gas analyzer for noninvasive diagnostics of air exhaled by patients

TL;DR: In this article, a laser gas analyzer was designed for determining the composition of exhaled air by means of photoacoustic spectroscopy, based on a broadband optical parametric oscillator and photo-acoustic detector, providing high-precision rapid analysis of the multicomponent composition of human exhaled breath for dynamic estimation of the efficiency of treating bronchus and lung diseases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optical damage studies of mercury thiogallate nonlinear crystals for use in 1-μm pumped optical parametric oscillators

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated optical damage in one of the most promising wide bandgap nonoxide nonlinear crystals, HgGa2S4, that can be used in ∼1-μm pumped optical parametric oscillators (OPOs) and synchronously pumped OPOs for generation of idler pulses above 4 μm without two-photon absorption losses at the pump wave length.
Journal ArticleDOI

Photoluminescence of lithium thiogallate LiGaS_2

TL;DR: In this paper, annealing in appropriate atmosphere affects considerably transparency and photoluminescence (PL) of lithium thiogallate LiGaS2 (LGS), which can be used as a light-emitting medium in different laser and optoelectronic devices.
