Searches for Time Dependent Neutrino Sources with IceCube Data from 2008 to 2012

M. G. Aartsen, +305 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a search for flaring astrophysical neutrino sources and sources with periodic emission with the IceCube neutrinos telescope is presented, in contrast to time integrated searches, where steady emission is assumed, the analyses presented here look for a time dependent signal, using the information from the neutrer arrival times to enhance the discovery potential.

ALICE Electromagnetic Calorimeter Technical Design Report

Pietro Cortese, +848 more
TL;DR: A large acceptance Electromagnetic Calorimeter (EMCal) was installed in the ALICE central detector to enhance the capabilities for jet quenching measurements as mentioned in this paper, which has played a key role at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) and will be central to the study of nuclear collisions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Detection of a particle shower at the Glashow resonance with IceCube

M. G. Aartsen, +381 more
TL;DR: In this article, the Glashow resonance was used to detect a cascade of high-energy particles (a particle shower) consistent with being created at the glashow resonant formation of a $W^-$ boson.
Journal ArticleDOI

Joint constraints on Galactic diffuse neutrino emission from ANTARES and IceCube.

A. Albert, +454 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the existence of diffuse Galactic neutrino production is expected from cosmic ray interactions with Galactic gas and radiation fields, and a search for this production using ten years of ANTARES track and shower data, as well as seven years of IceCube track data is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Searching for eV-scale sterile neutrinos with eight years of atmospheric neutrinos at the IceCube Neutrino Telescope

M. G. Aartsen, +373 more
- 30 Sep 2020 -
TL;DR: In this paper, searches for eV-scale sterile neutrinos, in the context of a 3 + 1 model, using eight years of data from the IceCube Neutrino Telescope, were reported.
