The first excited state of 30Ne studied by proton inelastic scattering in reversed kinematics
Yoshiyuki Yanagisawa,Masahiro Notani,Hiroyoshi Sakurai,M. Kunibu,H. Akiyoshi,N. Aoi,Hidetada Baba,K. Demichi,Naoki Fukuda,H. Hasegawa,Yoshihide Higurashi,Masakazu Ishihara,Naohito Iwasa,H. Iwasaki,Tomoko Gomi,S. Kanno,Meiko Kurokawa,Y. U. Matsuyama,Shin'ichiro Michimasa,T. Minemura,T. Mizoi,Takashi Nakamura,Akito Saito,M. Serata,Susumu Shimoura,Takashi Sugimoto,E. Takeshita,Satoshi Takeuchi,K. Ue,K. Yamada,Kenichiro Yoneda,T. Motobayashi +31 more
TL;DR: The energy of the first excited state of the very neutron-rich nucleus 30 Ne was determined by proton inelastic scattering as mentioned in this paper, indicating enhancement of deformation as the neutron excess increases in the N = 20 isotones.
Journal ArticleDOI
Large collectivity of 34Mg
Hironori Iwasaki,T. Motobayashi,Hiroyoshi Sakurai,K. Yoneda,Tomoko Gomi,N. Aoi,Naoki Fukuda,Zs. Fülöp,U. Futakami,Z. Gacsi,Yoshihide Higurashi,N. Imai,Naohito Iwasa,Takashi Kubo,M. TL;DR: In this paper, the B(E2;0+g.s.→2+1) value for the previously proposed 2+1 state in 34Mg was determined for the first time to be 631(126) e 2 fm 4.
Journal ArticleDOI
Deformation of 34Mg studied via in-beam γ-ray spectroscopy using radioactive-ion projectile fragmentation
K. Yoneda,Hiroyoshi Sakurai,Tomoko Gomi,T. Motobayashi,N. Aoi,Naoki Fukuda,U. Futakami,Z. Gacsi,Yoshihide Higurashi,N. Imai,Naohito Iwasa,Hironori Iwasaki,T. Kubo,M. Kunibu,Meiko Kurokawa,Zhiqiang Liu,T. Minemura,Akito Saito,M. Serata,Susumu Shimoura,Satoshi Takeuchi,Y. X. Watanabe,K. Yamada,Y. Yanagisawa,K. Yogo,Atsumasa Yoshida,M. Ishihara +26 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the location of low-lying states in the very neutron-rich isotope 34 Mg has been determined for the first time using a two-step fragmentation reaction, and two strong γ -lines were observed at 660(10) and 1460(20) kV, which are tentatively attributed to the 2 + 1 → 0 + g.s. and 4 + 1→2 + 1 transitions in 34 mg, respectively.

Isomeric 0+ state in 12Be
Susumu Shimoura,Akito Saito,T. Minemura,Y. U. Matsuyama,Hidetada Baba,H. Akiyoshi,N. Aoi,Tomoko Gomi,Yoshihide Higurashi,Kazuo Ieki,N. Imai,Naohito Iwasa,Hironori Iwasaki,S. Kanno,Shigeru Kubono,M. Kunibu,Shin'ichiro Michimasa,T. Motobayashi,Takashi Nakamura,Hiroyoshi Sakurai,M. Serata,E. Takeshita,Satoshi Takeuchi,Toshiharu Teranishi,K. Ue,K. Yamada,Yoshiyuki Yanagisawa,Masakazu Ishihara,Naoyuki Itagaki +28 more
TL;DR: An isomeric 0+ state at E x = 2.24 MeV in 12Be was found in the projectile fragmentation of 18O at 100 A MeV on a Be target as discussed by the authors, where the excitation energy and the spin assignment were deduced by measurements of the energies and the angular correlation function of the coincident two γ-rays corresponding to the 0+ → 2+ → 0+ decay.
Journal ArticleDOI
Liquid hydrogen and helium targets for radioisotope beams at RIKEN
H. Ryuto,M. Kunibu,Toshiyuki Minemura,T. Motobayashi,K. Sagara,Susumu Shimoura,M. Tamaki,Yoshiyuki Yanagisawa,Yasushige Yano +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, compact liquid hydrogen, deuterium, and helium targets were constructed for radioisotope beam experiments at RIKEN and operated stably in several experiments.
