TL;DR: The STAR Time Projection Chamber (TPC) as discussed by the authors is used to record the collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) and provides complete coverage around the beam-line, and complete tracking for charged particles within ± 1.8 units of pseudo-rapidity of the center of mass frame.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used a thermal paramatrization model to fit the transverse mass spectra of charged pions over nearly full rapidity coverage from target to beam rapidity in the centrality range 0-5pct in AU-AU collisions at beam energies from 2 to 8 A GeV/nucleon.

TL;DR: Using reverse kinematics, values for the critical exponents [gamma], [beta], and [tau] are determined, close to those for liquid-gas systems and clearly different than those for 3D percolation and the liquid- gas mean field limit.
