Yeast selection for fuel ethanol production in Brazil
TL;DR: Results suggest that the great yeast biodiversity found in distillery environments could be an important source of strains, because during yeast cell recycling, selective pressure is imposed on cells, leading to strains with higher tolerance to the stressful conditions of the industrial fermentation.

Continuous and batch fermentation processes: Advantages and disadvantages of these processes in the Brazilian ethanol production
TL;DR: Findings indicate that the batch fermentation process with yeast recycle is superior for the following main reasons: the process parameters are more easier to measure and invariably control and manage, and it is less susceptible to bacterial and wild yeast contamination.
