Journal ArticleDOI

Foliar application of silicon improves stem strength under low light stress by regulating lignin biosynthesis genes in soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.).

TL;DR: It is concluded that Si affects the composition of plant cell walls components, mostly by altering linkages of non-cellulosic polymers and lignin, and the modifications of the cell wall network through Si application could be a useful strategy to reduce shading stress in intercropping.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crop photosynthetic response to light quality and light intensity

TL;DR: This review is an effort to briefly summarize the available information on the effects of light components on various plant parameters such as stem and leaf morphology and anatomy, stomatal development, photosynthetic apparatus, pigment composition, reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, antioxidants, and hormone production.
Journal ArticleDOI

Frequency dependent dielectric properties of Cu0.5Tl0.5Ba2Ca2Cu3−yZnyO10−δ (y=0, 1.0, 1.5,2.0, 2.5) superconductors

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of Zn atoms and specifically their role in modifying dielectric properties, such as dielectrics loss (tan δ) and ac-conductivity (σac), were investigated in the normal state of the samples at room temperature and in their superconducting state.
