Journal ArticleDOI

Atrial fibrillation and thromboembolism in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy: systematic review

TL;DR: LA dimension and age are independently associated with AF but the literature is insufficient to create robust clinical tools to predict AF or thromboembolism; most data suggest that AF patients should be anticoagulated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Association of Low-Birth Weight with Malnutrition in Children under Five Years in Bangladesh: Do Mother's Education, Socio-Economic Status, and Birth Interval Matter?

TL;DR: Higher education of mother, better household socio-economic conditions and prolonged birth intervals alone are not sufficient in bringing about substantial reductions in prevalence of child malnutrition in Bangladesh.
Journal ArticleDOI

A systematic review and meta-analysis of genotype–phenotype associations in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy caused by sarcomeric protein mutations

TL;DR: The presence of a mutation in any sarcomere gene is associated with a number of clinical features and the heterogeneous nature of the disease and the inconsistency of study design precludes the establishment of more precise genotype–phenotype relationships.
Journal ArticleDOI

Association between malnutrition and anemia in under-five children and women of reproductive age: Evidence from Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey 2011.

TL;DR: The prevalence of anemia is found to be higher among both the stunted children and women with low BMI compared to their healthy counterparts, and evidence–based policies targeting the vulnerable groups are required to combat anemia and nutritional deficiencies simultaneously under the same program.
Journal ArticleDOI

Review and evaluation of performance measures for survival prediction models in external validation settings.

TL;DR: A wide range of performance measures are reviewed and evaluated to provide some guidelines for their use in practice and it is recommended that Uno’s concordance measure is used to quantify Concordance when there are moderate levels of censoring.
