Journal ArticleDOI

6-Methylangelicins: a new series of potential photochemotherapeutic agents for the treatment of psoriasis.

TL;DR: Two compounds chosen on the basis of antiproliferative activity, lack of skin phototoxicity, and low mutagenicity, and two compounds tested on seven psoriatic patients by topical application and UV-A irradiation proved to be more effective than 8-MOP, used in the same conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

DNA-damaging activity in vivo and bacterial mutagenicity of sixteen aromatic amines and azo-derivatives, as related quantitatively to their carcinogenicity.

TL;DR: Results obtained with a family of hydrazine derivatives and a group of nitrosocompounds suggest that short term tests can perform very differently for different classes of chemicals.
Journal ArticleDOI

4'-Methylangelicins: new potential agents for the photochemotherapy of psoriasis.

TL;DR: Three derivatives of angelicin have been prepared and 2a-c was chosen for clinical evaluation because of its lack of skin phototoxicity, its low mutagenic activity, and its antiproliferative activity and proved to be effective in clearing psoriasis in two patients.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparative mutagenicity of linear and angular furocoumarins in Escherichia coli strains deficient in known repair functions.

TL;DR: Testing for mutagenesis in Escherichia coli B wild type and in various strains deficient in known repair systems indicates that both monoadducts and crosslinks are mutagenic.
