Bioprocessing of Metals from Packaging Wastes

TL;DR: In this article, a brief introduction of metal-based packaging, their various methods of disposal, and recovery and recycling options with particular focus on biotechnological approaches are discussed with the help of different examples and recent developments in the recovery and reuse of waste metals.
Journal ArticleDOI

Changes in ultrastructure, photosynthetic abilities, and secondary metabolite due to individual and interactive effects of chromium and ultraviolet-B radiation in Adhatoda vasica

TL;DR: Pandey et al. as discussed by the authors conducted a study to assess individual and interactive effects of elevated ultraviolet-B (eUV-B) radiation and chromium (Cr) on a medicinal plant Adhatoda vasica Nees.
Journal ArticleDOI

SO2-induced effects and their amelioration by Ca(OH)2 solution in Vigna sinensis plants

TL;DR: In this article, 30 to 69-day-old field-grown cow-pea (Vigna sinensis L.) plants, when exposed within closed polythene chambers to 0.25 p.p.m. (667 μg m −3 ) SO 2 for 1.5 h daily for 40 days, showed significant decreases in phytomass and total chlorophyll.

Modification in spinach response to UV-B radiation by nutrient management: Pigments, antioxidants and metabolites

TL;DR: In this article, Spinacia oleracea plants were grown under ambient and elevated UV-B at different combinations and concentrations of NPK to assess the amelioration potential of nutrient combination.
