Shallow groundwater affects terrestrial ecosystems by sustaining river base-flow and root-zone soil water in the absence of rain, but little is known about the global patterns of water table depth and where it provides vital support for land ecosystems We present global observations of water table depth compiled from government archives and literature, and fill in data gaps and infer patterns and processes using a groundwater model forced by modern climate, terrain, and sea level Patterns in water table depth explain patterns in wetlands at the global scale and vegetation gradients at regional and local scales Overall, shallow groundwater influences 22 to 32% of global land area, including ~15% as groundwater-fed surface water features and 7 to 17% with the water table or its capillary fringe within plant rooting depths

Global patterns of groundwater table depth.

Although cadavers constitute the gold standard for teaching anatomy to medical and health science students, there are substantial financial, ethical, and supervisory constraints on their use. In addition, although anatomy remains one of the fundamental areas of medical education, universities have decreased the hours allocated to teaching gross anatomy in favor of applied clinical work. The release of virtual (VR) and augmented reality (AR) devices allows learning to occur through hands-on immersive experiences. The aim of this research was to assess whether learning structural anatomy utilizing VR or AR is as effective as tablet-based (TB) applications, and whether these modes allowed enhanced student learning, engagement and performance. Participants (n = 59) were randomly allocated to one of the three learning modes: VR, AR, or TB and completed a lesson on skull anatomy, after which they completed an anatomical knowledge assessment. Student perceptions of each learning mode and any adverse effects experienced were recorded. No significant differences were found between mean assessment scores in VR, AR, or TB. During the lessons however, VR participants were more likely to exhibit adverse effects such as headaches (25% in VR P < 0.05), dizziness (40% in VR, P < 0.001), or blurred vision (35% in VR, P < 0.01). Both VR and AR are as valuable for teaching anatomy as tablet devices, but also promote intrinsic benefits such as increased learner immersion and engagement. These outcomes show great promise for the effective use of virtual and augmented reality as means to supplement lesson content in anatomical education. Agricultural land use suitability analysis using GIS and AHP technique

In the present paper we report the MOVPE growth of GaAs/AlGaAs graded-index separate confinement heterostructure (GRINSCH) single quantum well (SQW) laser structure at relatively low temperature. Low temperature growth was possible by controlling various growth parameters as well as external sources of oxygen contamination. The grown structures were characterized by photoluminescence (PL) and high resolution X-ray diffraction (HRXRD) technique. Stripe geometry laser diodes were fabricated on the grown structures. The laser parameters such as threshold current, slope efficiency and peak power were measured.

MOVPE growth and optimization of GRINSCH single quantum well AlGaAs/GaAs laser diodes

Seventy two weaned Syrian hamsters of either sex were randomly assigned to six treatments in single cages (290mm X 220mm X 140mm) in a closed room where the temperature and relative humidity was maintained 24±50C and 60±15%, respectively during the trial of 56 days. The experiment consisted of six treatments. The concentrate mixture of all the groups was formulated using wheat, fish meal, ground nut cake, mineral mixture and common salt. Feed provided to each treatment was same. Treatment T1, T3 and T5were provided with pure water only. While treatment group T2, T4 and T6were provided with green tea extract only. Green tea extract was prepared by dipping green tea bag (1.3g) in 130 ml boiling water so that effectively it formed 1 percent w/v solution. Hemato-biochemical parameters in terms of Cholesterol, HDL, LDL, Lipid Peroxide improved significantly in the treatment groups in which GTE was provided (T2, T4 and T6). It is inferred from the results that T2, T4 and T6 treatment groups (in which green tea was provided) showed better growth profile in comparison to the rest of the treatment groups (T1, T3 and T5). It is also inferred that rice Huskas a bedding material proved to be the best as compared to saw dust and sand.

Effect of green tea (Camellia sinensis) extract feeding on serum biochemical indices (Cholesterol, HDL, Lipid peroxide and LDL) of hamster under different dietary treatments

In this paper, an attempt has been made to correlate pulping of six tropical Indian hardwoods with their permeability and penetration behavior. A poor correlation existed between pulping suitability indices and directional permeability. Pulping suitability indices were found to be poorly correlated even with the composite permeability of wood, indicated by loading of cooking chemicals into wood under pressure. Composite permeability of wood was found to have a good correlation with pulp yield. High composite permeability, an index of good penetration of the cells, always resulted in lower yield losses, e.g., in udal and kokko. A medium permeability resulted in medium yield (maharukh). A poor composite permeability resulting from poor penetration of the cells, despite high gas permeability in some cases (chilauni, eucalyptus, toon) resulted in higher carbohydrate losses.

A male dog of 5 year showed history of anorexia, vomiting, drowsy and a normal body temperature. It was tentatively diagnosed the case of renal failure. And for diagnosis owner was advised for test and report revealed that PLT was low. BUN and Creatinine was higher from the normal range. Owner was advised for fluid therapy with ringer lactate 500ml, ranitidine 1 ml and eldervet i.e multivitamin. Ondansetron was advised if vomiting occur.
