Enhancement of modulation bandwidth of laser diodes by injection locking

TL;DR: In this article, the authors suggest a new method for significantly enhancing the intrinsic bandwidth of a laser diode through the use of an injection locking technique, which shows that for moderate and high injection levels, the bandwidth can be increased to several times its free-running bandwidth.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Performance of Secondary Radios in Spectrum Sharing with Prioritized Primary Access

TL;DR: The analysis provides an insightful study about how the secondary system capacity is determined by its GoS requirement, and shows that when the secondary call dropping probability is the cause of low capacity, by suitably reserving a number of frequency slots for primary users' access, the primary system capacity can be improved significantly.
Journal ArticleDOI

A simplified analysis of direct intensity modulation of quantum cascade lasers

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used simplified rate equations to analyze the terahertz direct intensity modulation (IM) response of quantum cascade laser (QCL) and showed that for slow carrier removal rates, associated with large bias currents, a peak can appear in the IM response for reasons entirely different from those for the peak in IM response of interband lasers.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Survey on Biometrics and Cancelable Biometrics Systems

TL;DR: Now-a-days, biometric systems have replaced the password or token based authentication system in many fields to improve the security level but biometric system is also vulnerable to security threats.
Journal ArticleDOI

An Equivalent Circuit for Quantum Cascade Lasers

TL;DR: In this paper, a circuit model of a quantum cascade laser based on two level rate equations is presented, which is valid for small and large signals, and a realistic current voltage model based on experimental results is included in the circuit model.
