Response of long- to short-term changes of the Puri coastline of Odisha (India) to natural and anthropogenic factors: a remote sensing and statistical assessment
Manoranjan Mishra,Pritam Chand,Namita Pattnaik,Dambaru Ballab Kattel,G. K. Panda,Manmohan Mohanti,Ujjal Deka Baruah,Surendra Kumar Chandniha,Subrat Achary,Tapan Mohanty +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors assessed the long-to short-term dynamicity of shoreline positions along the coast of Puri district, Odisha, India, during the past 25 years (1990-2015) using open-source multi-temporal satellite images (Landsat TM, ETM++, and OLI) and statistical-based methods (endpoint rate, linear regression rate and weighted linear regression).
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of the TRMM product for monitoring drought over Paraíba State, northeastern Brazil: a trend analysis.
Reginaldo Moura Brasil Neto,Celso Augusto Guimarães Santos,Jorge Flávio Casé Braga da Costa Silva,Richarde Marques da Silva,Carlos Antonio Costa dos Santos,Manoranjan Mishra +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated TRMM-estimated rainfall data's performance for monitoring the behavior and spatiotemporal trends of meteorological droughts over Paraiba State, based on the standardized precipitation index (SPI) from 1998 to 2017.
Journal ArticleDOI
Geospatial drought severity analysis based on PERSIANN-CDR-estimated rainfall data for Odisha state in India (1983-2018).
Celso Augusto Guimarães Santos,Reginaldo Moura Brasil Neto,Thiago Victor Medeiros do Nascimento,Richarde Marques da Silva,Manoranjan Mishra,Tatiane Gomes Frade +5 more
TL;DR: Evaluating the drought behavior in the Odisha region of India by using the standardized precipitation index (SPI) and the new drought severity classification (DS) indicated that there was high spatiotemporal variability in drought occurrence among those periods; e.g., in the last four years, extreme drought events occurred throughout the state.
Journal ArticleDOI
Geo-ecological impact assessment of severe cyclonic storm Amphan on Sundarban mangrove forest using geospatial technology
Manoranjan Mishra,Tamoghna Acharyya,Celso Augusto Guimarães Santos,Richarde Marques da Silva,Dipika Kar,Abu Hena Mustafa Kamal,Susmita Raulo +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors report the damage caused by Amphan, a category five tropical cyclonic storm, to the ecology and shoreline of the Sundarban mangrove ecosystem, located in India and Bangladesh.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of long- and short-term shoreline change dynamics: A study case of João Pessoa city in Brazil
Celso Augusto Guimarães Santos,Thiago Victor Medeiros do Nascimento,Manoranjan Mishra,Richarde Marques da Silva +3 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed the spatiotemporal changes of the short and long-term characteristics of the shoreline of Joao Pessoa city over the past 34 years (1985-2019) and analyzed the forcing mechanisms responsible for the seafloor changes.
