Journal ArticleDOI

Herwig++ Physics and Manual

TL;DR: Herwig++ as mentioned in this paper is a general-purpose Monte Carlo event generator for the simulation of hard lepton-lepton, leptonhadron and hadron-hadron collisions, with special emphasis on the correct description of radiation from heavy particles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Simulation of multiple partonic interactions in Herwig

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe a model of multiple partonic interactions that has been implemented in Herwig++ and find a good description of CDF underlying event data, showing extrapolations to the LHC.

Proceedings of the workshop: HERA and the LHC workshop series on the implications of HERA for LHC physics

Hannes Jung, +266 more
TL;DR: The implications of HERA for LHC physics were discussed in this article, where Parton Density Functions Multi-jet final states and energy flows Heavy quarks (charm and beauty) Diffraction Cosmic Rays Monte Carlos and Tools
Journal ArticleDOI

The underlying event and the total cross section from Tevatron to the LHC

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors study the connection between the total cross section, the jet cross section and the underlying event and show that measurements of the total proton-proton cross-section at the LHC are likely to break this internal consistency.
