Recovered heart failure with reduced ejection fraction and outcomes: a prospective study
Josep Lupón,Josep Lupón,Carles Díez-López,Marta de Antonio,Mar Domingo,Elisabet Zamora,Pedro Moliner,Beatriz González,Javier Santesmases,Maria Isabel Troya,Antoni Bayes-Genis,Antoni Bayes-Genis +11 more
TL;DR: It is shown that significant recovery of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) occurs in a proportion of patients with heart failure and reduced ejections fraction, and the primary endpoint was a composite of CV death or HF hospitalization.
Journal ArticleDOI
Soluble Neprilysin Is Predictive of Cardiovascular Death and Heart Failure Hospitalization in Heart Failure Patients
Antoni Bayes-Genis,Jaume Barallat,Amparo Galán,Marta de Antonio,Mar Domingo,Elisabet Zamora,Agustín Urrutia,Josep Lupón +7 more
TL;DR: Investigation of circulating neprilysin in HF patients and the positive association of nePrilysin with cardiovascular mortality and morbidity further support the importance of NEP inhibition for augmenting natriuretic peptides as a therapeutic target.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dynamic Trajectories of Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction in Heart Failure
Josep Lupón,Giovana Gavidia-Bovadilla,Elena Ferrer,Marta de Antonio,Alexandre Perera-Lluna,Jorge López-Ayerbe,Mar Domingo,Julio Núñez,Elisabet Zamora,Pedro Moliner,Patricia Díaz-Ruata,Javier Santesmases,Antoni Bayes-Genis +12 more
TL;DR: LVEF trajectories vary in HF depending on a number of disease modifiers, but an inverted U-shaped pattern with lower LVEF at both ends of the distribution emerged, which was associated with higher mortality.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biomarker-assist score for reverse remodeling prediction in heart failure: The ST2-R2 score
Josep Lupón,Hanna K. Gaggin,Marta de Antonio,Mar Domingo,Amparo Galán,Elisabet Zamora,Joan Vila,Judith Peñafiel,Agustín Urrutia,Elena Ferrer,Nuria Vallejo,James L. Januzzi,Antoni Bayes-Genis +12 more
TL;DR: The ST2-R2 score, which includes the novel biomarker ST2 and five clinical variables, reasonably predicts LV-R1 in systolic HF patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Advanced interatrial block predicts new-onset atrial fibrillation and ischemic stroke in patients with heart failure: The “Bayes' Syndrome-HF” study
Luis Alberto Escobar-Robledo,Antoni Bayés-de-Luna,Josep Lupón,Adrian Baranchuk,Pedro Moliner,Manuel Martínez-Sellés,Elisabet Zamora,Marta de Antonio,Mar Domingo,Germán Cediel,Julio Núñez,Evelyn Santiago-Vacas,Antoni Bayes-Genis +12 more
TL;DR: In patients with HF advanced IAB predicts new-onset AF and ischemic stroke, and future studies must assess whether anticoagulant treatment in Bayes' Syndrome leads to better outcomes in HF.
