Journal ArticleDOI

Resistant tuberculosis: a molecular review

TL;DR: The molecular mechanisms associated with drug-resistance as well the new perspectives for detecting resistant isolates are reviewed, which are of increasing significance for the whole global community.
Journal ArticleDOI

Direct-test PCR for detection of meningococcal DNA and its serogroup characterization: standardization and adaptation for use in a public health laboratory.

TL;DR: A direct PCR test (DT-PCR) was established to detect Neisseria meningitidis DNA in clinical samples from patients with suspected bacterial meningitis and the sensitivity was 83 % for agarose gel DNA detection and 96.4 % using dot-blot DNA detection.
Journal ArticleDOI

Colorimetric microwell plate reverse-hybridization assay for Mycobacterium tuberculosis detection.

TL;DR: A pre-commercial colorimetric method for detecting Mycobacterium tuberculosis DNA in which an oligonucleotide probe is fixed onto wells of microwell plates and hybridized with biotinylated polymerase chain reaction amplification products derived from clinical samples showed similar specificity to that described for commercially available kits.
