Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and biological properties of selenium- and tellurium-containing dyes

TL;DR: In this article, the synthesis and biological applications of organoseleno-and organotelluro-based molecular dyes are discussed, including the most relevant applications for photodynamic therapy (PDT), fluorescent probes for the detection of endogenous reactive oxygen species (ROS), natural bioreductors like glutathione (GSH) and metals present in physiological systems.
Journal Article

Evaluation of a special combination of glucan with organic selenium derivative in different murine tumor models.

TL;DR: This study showed that a combination of yeast-derived β-glucan and a selenium-linked pseudodisaccharide strongly suppressed the growth of all three types of cancers, most likely via the interaction with natural anticancer antibodies.
