Interface Effects in Sunlight-Driven Ag/g-C3N4 Composite Catalysts: Study of the Toluene Photodegradation Quantum Efficiency
TL;DR: The study shows that the optimum silver-g-C3N4 contact is able to outperform TiO2 reference systems (nano-TiO2 and P25) under sunlight illumination and points out that this occurs as a direct consequence of the charge handling through the interface between catalyst components.
Journal ArticleDOI
New Pd/CexZr1−xO2/Al2O3 three-way catalysts prepared by microemulsion: Part 1. Characterization and catalytic behavior for CO oxidation
Marcos Fernández-García,Arturo Martínez-Arias,Ana Iglesias-Juez,Ana B. Hungría,James A. Anderson,José C. Conesa,J. Soria +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a series of palladium catalysts supported on ceria and ceria-zirconia/alumina in the calcined state and under a reactive CO+O2 atmosphere has been characterized by a combination of electron transmission microscopy, infrared and electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopies, and the results obtained used to interpret the catalytic behavior displayed by the samples in the CO oxidation reaction.
Journal ArticleDOI
EPR study of the photoassisted formation of radicals on CeO2 nanoparticles employed for toluene photooxidation
María D. Hernández-Alonso,Ana B. Hungría,Arturo Martínez-Arias,Marcos Fernández-García,Juan M. Coronado,José C. Conesa,Javier Soria +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, photoactivated processes occurring upon UV illumination of CeO2 nanoparticles prepared from reverse microemulsions have been studied by means of EPR spectroscopy, and different experimental approaches have been employed aiming to determine the capability of the samples for the trapping of photogenerated charge carriers either in the absence or in the presence of external scavengers or spin-trapping agents (O2 or DMPO molecules).
Journal ArticleDOI
Disinfection Capability of Ag /g-C3N4 Composite Photocatalysts under UV and Visible Light Illumination
Mario J. Muñoz-Batista,Olga Fontelles-Carceller,Manuel Ferrer,Marcos Fernández-García,Anna Kubacka +4 more
TL;DR: In this article, the biocidal capability of Ag/g-C 3 N 4 composite photocatalysts against Escherichia coli was evaluated as a function of the Ag content of the material upon UV and visible light excitation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Study of the lean NOx reduction with C3H6 in the presence of water over silver/alumina catalysts prepared from inverse microemulsions
Arturo Martínez-Arias,Marcos Fernández-García,Ana Iglesias-Juez,James A. Anderson,José C. Conesa,J. Soria +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, a study of the lean NOx reduction activity with propene in the presence of water over Ag/Al2O3 catalysts with different silver loadings was performed.
