TL;DR: Data from a prospectively large single centre study of 138 Thalassemia Major patients and 32 healthy controls support previous suggestions that T1 detects missed iron in 1 out of 3 subjects with normal T2*, and that T 1 mapping is complementary to T2*.

Effect of food, type of food, and time of food intake on deferasirox bioavailability: recommendations for an optimal deferasirox administration regimen

TL;DR: The data show that the type of food, caloric content, and fat content of the meal influence the bioavailability of deferasirox when consumed concomitantly, but this is not the case when defer asirox is administered at least 30 minutes before a meal.
