Journal ArticleDOI

Vitamin D3 inhibits TNFα-induced latent HIV reactivation in J-LAT cells.

TL;DR: 1,25(OH)2D3 is able to reduce the ability of TNFalpha to upregulate the transcription of HIV RNA from latently infected cells, which provides further understanding of the pathogenic mechanisms regulating viral reactivation from latent reservoirs, along with new insight in viral internalization.
Journal ArticleDOI

Combined IR and XPS characterization of organic refractory residues obtained by ion irradiation of simple icy mixtures

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the chemical similarities and differences between some organic residues left over after ion bombardment (200 keV H+) of different ice mixtures followed by subsequent warm up under vacuum to room temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI

Solid CO2 in quiescent dense molecular clouds - Comparison between Spitzer and laboratory spectra

TL;DR: In this paper, the role of low-energy cosmic-ray bombardment in the formation of solid CO2 in quiescent dense molecular clouds was investigated, and the results support the hypothesis that energetic processing of icy grain mantles is an efficient formation mechanism of CO2 ice also in quyingcent dark cloud regions.
Journal Article

Is it possible to detect frozen O_2_ and N_2_ on interstellar grains

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of ion irradiation on frozen ices with a view to their astrophysical relevance were investigated using 3-60 keV helium and argon ions, frozen CO, and mixtures CO:O2 and CO:N2.
Journal Article

Profile of the CO 2 bands produced after ion irradiation of ice mixtures

TL;DR: In this paper, the infrared spectral characteristics of carbon dioxide (CO2) formed after ion irradiation of several astrophysically relevant ice mixtures at 10 K were studied, and the profile of the CO 2 bands as a function of initial mixture, irradiation dose and warming up temperature.
