Journal ArticleDOI
SERPING1 mRNA overexpression in monocytes from HIV+ patients.
Cristina Sanfilippo,Daniela Cambria,Antonio Longo,Maria Elisabetta Palumbo,Rosanna Avola,Marilia Rita Pinzone,Giuseppe Nunnari,Fabrizio Condorelli,Giuseppe Musumeci,R. Imbesi,P. Castogiovanni,Lucia Malaguarnera,Michelino Di Rosa +12 more
TL;DR: It is possible to conclude that SERPING1 and its network serve as important components of the innate immune system to restrict HIV-1 infection.
Journal ArticleDOI
C2O and C3O in low-mass star-forming regions
R. G. Urso,R. G. Urso,Maria Elisabetta Palumbo,Cecilia Ceccarelli,Nadia Balucani,Nadia Balucani,Nadia Balucani,Sandrine Bottinelli,C. Codella,C. Codella,Francesco Fontani,Paolo Leto,Corrado Trigilio,Charlotte Vastel,Rafael Bachiller,G. A. Baratta,Carla Buemi,Emmanuel Caux,A. Jaber Al-Edhari,Bertrand Lefloch,Ana López-Sepulcre,G. Umana,Leonardo Testi +22 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the role of both gas-phase reactions and energetic processing in the formation of simple carbon chain oxides that have been searched for in various low-mass star-forming regions was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Production of Hydronium Ion (H3O)+ and Protonated Water Clusters (H2O)nH+ after Energetic Ion Bombardment of Water Ice in Astrophysical Environments
R. Martinez,R. Martinez,A N Agnihotri,Ph. Boduch,Alicja Domaracka,Daniele Fulvio,G Muniz,Maria Elisabetta Palumbo,Hermann Rothard,Giovanni Strazzulla +9 more
TL;DR: Results show a progressive yield decrease with increasing temperature of all of the detected species, related to the structure of the ice: the ionic sputtering yield for crystalline ice is much lower than for an amorphous ice, and the yields decrease by about one order of magnitude.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cosmic ray processing of N2-containing interstellar ice analogues at dark cloud conditions
Journal ArticleDOI
Formation of complex organic molecules in molecular clouds: acetaldehyde, vinyl alcohol, ketene, and ethanol via the "energetic" processing of C$_2$H$_2$ ice
K.-J. Chuang,Gleb Fedoseev,C. Scirè,G. A. Baratta,Cornelia Jäger,Th. Henning,Harold Linnartz,Maria Elisabetta Palumbo +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the H$^+$ radiolysis of interstellar C$2$H$_2$O ice analogs at 17 K was investigated with laboratory measurements focusing on the energetic counterpart, induced by cosmic rays penetrating the H2O-rich ice mantle.
