Journal ArticleDOI

Fluvastatin Increases AQP2 Urine Excretion in a Dyslipidemic Patient with Nephrogenic Diabetes Insipidus: An In Vivo and In Vitro Study

TL;DR: The use of fluvastatin is demonstrated to have increased AQP2 plasma membrane expression in an NDI dyslipidemic patient, suggesting the possible role of HMG CoA reductase inhibitors to improve the efficacy of the current NDI therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Role of the H-bond between L53 and T56 for Aquaporin-4 epitope in Neuromyelitis Optica

TL;DR: The results indicate that the MD prediction under analysis is not supported by experimental data and the procedure to obtain AQP4 crystals might affect its native architecture and, as a consequence, MD simulations might not be the suitable for molecular medicine advances in NMO.
Journal ArticleDOI

Polyclonal antibodies in study of ADH-induced water channels in frog urinary bladder

TL;DR: Polyclonal antibodies developed using Triton X-100 extract as an immunogen suggest that proteins of 55, 35, 26, and 17 kDa are likely to be involved in the mechanism of water transport.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transport of some non-electrolytes through amphibian skins.

TL;DR: Across the isolated ventral skin of Rana esculenta in the absence of concentration gradients, the transepithelial outfluxes of glycerol, ethylene glycol and propylene gly col are larger than the influxes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Aquaporin-CHIP-related protein in frog urinary bladder: Localization by confocal microscopy

TL;DR: The results suggest that CHIP-like proteins are not proteins inserted in the apical membrane during the antidiuretic response, and are instead proteins sharing immunological analogies with aquaporin CHIP.
