Journal ArticleDOI
Applications of molecular genetics for biosynthesis of novel lignins
Marie Baucher,Jorgen Holst Christensen,Hugo Meyermans,Cuiying Chen,Jan Van Doorsselaere,Jean-Charles Leplé,Gilles Pilate,Michel Petit-Conil,Lise Jouanin,Brigitte Chabbert,Bernard Monties,Marc Van Montagu,Wout Boerjan +12 more
TL;DR: The results demonstrate that the monomeric composition of lignin was dramatically affected by down-regulation of COMT and Transgenic poplars with a reduced CAD activity have better pulping properties, due to a higher extractability of the lignIn.
Journal ArticleDOI
Screening for differential gene expression in Atropa belladonna leafy gall induced following Rhodococcus fascians infection
TL;DR: PCR-based differential display patterns of Atropa belladonna leafy gall and non-infected plant tissues were compared to characterise at the molecular level the nature of plant responses to infection by Rhodococcus fascians, suggesting a potential role of these up-regulated genes in plant growth and development.
Journal ArticleDOI
PtaRHE1, a Populus tremula × Populus alba RING‐H2 protein of the ATL family, has a regulatory role in secondary phloem fibre development
Fabien Baldacci-Cresp,Jihad Moussawi,Jean-Charles Leplé,Rebecca Van Acker,Annegret Kohler,Julie J Candiracci,Laure Twyffels,Antanas V. Spokevicius,Gerd Bossinger,Françoise Laurans,Nicole Brunel,Nicole Brunel,Marjorie Vermeersch,Wout Boerjan,Mondher El Jaziri,Marie Baucher +15 more
TL;DR: A biological network involving hormone stress signalling, as well as developmental processes, could be delineated and data suggest a regulatory role for PtaRHE1 in secondary phloem fibre development.
Journal ArticleDOI
In vitro micrografting of apical and axillary buds of cacao
Yulien Miguelez-Sierra,Annia Hernández-Rodríguez,Yanelis Acebo-Guerrero,Marie Baucher,Mondher El Jaziri +4 more
TL;DR: Side grafting with axillary buds is the most appropriate method for cacao micrografting and can be used for clonal propagation and for the establishment of in vivo and/or in vitro cacao germplasm collection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of jasmonic acid on developmental morphology during in vitro tuberization of Dioscorea alata (L.)
TL;DR: Tuberization improvement in medium supplemented with JA is likely to be the result of morphogenetic modifications occurring during the early stages of microtuber formation.
