Characteristics, main impacts, and stewardship of natural and artificial freshwater environments: consequences for biodiversity conservation
Marco Cantonati,Sandra Poikane,Catherine M. Pringle,Lawrence E. Stevens,Eren Turak,Eren Turak,Jani Heino,John S. Richardson,Rossano Bolpagni,Alex Borrini,Núria Cid,Martina Čtvrtlíková,Diana M. P. Galassi,Michal Hájek,Ian Hawes,Zlatko Levkov,Luigi Naselli-Flores,Abdullah A. Saber,Mattia Di Cicco,Barbara Fiasca,Paul B. Hamilton,Jan Kubečka,Stefano Segadelli,Petr Znachor +23 more
TL;DR: In this article, the main biodiversity patterns and ecological features, human impacts on the system and environmental issues, and discuss ways to use this information to improve stewardship are identified, and the authors consider all main types of natural and artificial inland freshwater habitas (fwh).
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of commonly used primer sets for evaluating arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal communities: Is there a universal solution?
Petr Kohout,Petr Kohout,Radka Sudová,Martina Janoušková,Martina Čtvrtlíková,Martin Hejda,Hana Pánková,Renata Slavíková,Kateřina Štajerová,Kateřina Štajerová,Miroslav Vosátka,Zuzana Sýkorová +11 more
TL;DR: The results confirm the crucial role of the choice of target rRNA marker region for analysing AMF communities and provide evidence that nested-PCR based data can be interpreted semi-quantitatively and that the extent of observed AMF community overdominance largely depends on the choiceof primer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Surprising spectra of root-associated fungi in submerged aquatic plants.
Petr Kohout,Petr Kohout,Zuzana Sýkorová,Martina Čtvrtlíková,Jana Rydlová,Jan Suda,Jan Suda,Martin Vohník,Martin Vohník,Radka Sudová +9 more
TL;DR: The abundance and phylogenetic distribution of mycorrhizal as well as nonmycorrhIZal fungi in the roots of submerged plants have reshaped views on the fungal diversity in aquatic environment.
Vegetace České republiky 3. Vodní a mokřadní vegetace
Milan Chytrý,Kateřina Šumberová,Petra Hájková,Michal Hájek,Zdeňka Hroudová,Jana Navrátilová,Martina Čtvrtlíková,Jiří Sádlo,Zdeňka Lososová,Richard Hrivnák,Jaroslav Rydlo,Helena Oťaheľová,Petr Bauer,Petra Hanáková,Libor Ekrt,Ester Ekrtová,Dana Michalcová,Kristýna Žáková,Jiří Danihelka,Štěpánka Králová,Katrin Karimová,Lubomír Tichý,Ondřej Hájek,Martin Kočí +23 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a monografie vodni a mokřadni vegetace ceských zemi, which includes Lemnetea, Potametea, Charetea, Littorelletea uniflorae, Isoeto-Nano-Juncetea and Bidentetea tripartitae.
Journal ArticleDOI
The incidence of arbuscular mycorrhiza in two submerged Isoëtes species
TL;DR: Planting Littorella uniflora in the sediments from Isoetes rhizosphere revealed high levels of viable AM propagules in both lakes and confirmed the taxonomic identity and role of these AM fungi in plant growth remain unclear.
