Journal Article

Inhibition of cell growth by TGF beta 1 is associated with inhibition of B-myb and cyclin A in both BALB/MK and Mv1Lu cells.

TL;DR: Evidence is cited suggesting that the inhibition of B-myb and cyclin A may contribute to the late G1 arrest caused by TGF beta 1 and that these events may be linked through the actions of the product of the retinoblastoma susceptibility gene (Rb) or an Rb family member.
Journal ArticleDOI

Construction of a cyclin D1-Cdk2 fusion protein to model the biological functions of cyclin D1-Cdk2 complexes

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that Cdk2 in cyclin D1-Cdk2 complexes from mammary epithelial cells is phosphorylated on the activating phosphorylation site, Thr160, and that the cyclIn D1 domain of the fusion protein activated the Cdk1 domain through an intramolecular mechanism.
Journal ArticleDOI

GFAP-Cre-mediated activation of oncogenic K-ras results in expansion of the subventricular zone and infiltrating glioma.

TL;DR: Data in animal models suggest that infiltrating tumor cells may arise from NSC transformed by activation of oncogenic K-ras in vivo, and that tumors are initiated in the subventricular zone (SVZ), a stem/progenitor cell niche in the mature brain.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quantitative analysis of the secretome of TGF‐β signaling‐deficient mammary fibroblasts

TL;DR: Hundreds of specific extracellular protein changes modulated by deletion of TβRII in mammary fibroblasts are revealed, which may play important roles in the tumor microenvironment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Attenuated transforming growth factor beta signaling promotes metastasis in a model of HER2 mammary carcinogenesis

TL;DR: Insight is provided into a novel mechanism by which epithelial TGFβ signaling modulates the tumor microenvironment, and by which it is involved in lung metastasis in HER2+ breast cancer patients.
