A hybrid Galerkin finite element method for seismic wave propagation in fractured media

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a hybrid Galerkin method (HGM) for elastic wave propagation in fractured media that combines the salient features of each of the algorithm resulting in significant reduction in computational cost compared to DGM.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Self-Adaptive Galerkin Methods For One-Dimensional, Two-Phase Immiscible Flow

TL;DR: The Galerkin methods for immiscible displacement are based on a weak formulation for test functions as mentioned in this paper, which represent an artificial diffusivity that is required to enforce the entropy condition that selects the physical solution from the infinite set of solutions of the conservation law St + F(S)X = 0.
Journal ArticleDOI

A nested sampling particle filter for nonlinear data assimilation

TL;DR: The proposed nested sampling particle filter (NSPF) iteratively builds the posterior distribution by applying a constrained sampling from the prior distribution to obtain particles in high‐likelihood regions of the search space, resulting in a reduction of the number of particles required for an efficient behaviour of particle filters.

A machine learning accelerated FE 2 homogenization algorithm for elastic solids.

TL;DR: This work renders the RVE as a blackbox which gets the information from the macroscale as an input and gives information back to the macro scale as output, thereby eliminating the need for on-the-fly finite element solves at the Rve level.
Book ChapterDOI

A Parallel Multiphase Numerical Model for Subsurface Contaminant Transport with Biodegradation Kinetics

TL;DR: In this paper, the formulation of a simulator for two phase groundwater flow and transport with biodegradation kinetics has been discussed for massively parallel, distributed memory, message passing machines.
