Journal ArticleDOI
Possible clinical effects of molecular hydrogen (H2) delivery during hemodialysis in chronic dialysis patients: Interim analysis in a 12 month observation.
Masaaki Nakayama,Noritomo Itami,Hodaka Suzuki,Hiromi Hamada,Naoyuki Osaka,Ryo Yamamoto,Kazumasa Tsunoda,Hirofumi Nakano,Kimio Watanabe,Wan Jun Zhu,Yukio Maruyama,Hiroyuki Terawaki,Shigeru Kabayama,Ryoichi Nakazawa,Mariko Miyazaki,Sadayoshi Ito +15 more
TL;DR: The data indicates E-HD could have substantial clinical benefits beyond conventional HD therapy, and support the rationale to conduct clinical trials of H2 application to HD treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Overlap of Post-obstructive Diuresis and Unmasked Diabetes Insipidus in a Case of IgG4-related Retroperitoneal Fibrosis and Tuberoinfundibular Hypophysitis: A Case Report and Review of the Literature.
Midori Yatabe,Kimio Watanabe,Yoshimitsu Hayashi,Junichi Yatabe,Satoshi Morimoto,Atsuhiro Ichihara,Masaaki Nakayama,Tsuyoshi Watanabe +7 more
TL;DR: In patients with IgG4-RD, the manifestation of polyuria after steroid therapy should prompt suspicion of post-obstructive diuresis and the unmasking of central diabetes insipidus.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of predictive value for first cardiovascular event between Japanese GFR equation and coefficient-modified CKD-EPI equation
Hiroyuki Terawaki,Masaaki Nakayama,Koichi Asahi,Takeyasu Kakamu,Takehito Hayakawa,Kunitoshi Iseki,Kenjiro Kimura,Toshiki Moriyama,Kunihiro Yamagata,Ichiei Narita,Shouichi Fujimoto,Kazuhiko Tsuruya,Tsuneo Konta,Masahide Kondo,Issei Kurahashi,Yasuo Ohashi,Tetsuhito Fukushima,Tsuyoshi Watanabe +17 more
TL;DR: GFR Estimated by the coefficient-modified CKD-EPI equation was more closely related to CVD incidence than that estimated by the Japanese GFR equation, and it is possible that low mCKDEPI-eGFR also reflects some cardiovascular risk(s) other than kidney dysfunction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ferritin Elevation and Improved Responsiveness to Erythropoiesis-Stimulating Agents in Patients on Ferric Citrate Hydrate
Keitaro Yokoyama,Masafumi Fukagawa,Takashi Akiba,Masaaki Nakayama,Toshiya Otoguro,Kana Yamada,Yasuo Nagamine,Steven Fishbane,Hideki Hirakata +8 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that not only iron load but also the erythropoiesis-stimulating agent dose reduction may be involved in ferritin elevation during ferric citrate hydrate treatment, resulting in a decrease of eryanthropoietin resistance index.
