Flavin adenine dinucleotide requirement for the enzymic hydroxylation and decarboxylation of salicylic acid.
TL;DR: An aromatic hydrosglase from a soil bacterium is isolated and partislly purified, which is soluble and relatively stable, in contrast to most hitherto known aromatic hydrosylascs, and ratalyzes a stoichiometric conversion of salicylate to ammonium ion in the presence of reduced diphosphopyridine nuclcotidc and osygcn.
