Journal ArticleDOI
Combination of behaviour therapy with fluvoxamine in comparison with behaviour therapy and placebo: Results of a multicentre study.
Fritz Hohagen,G. Winkelmann,H Rasche-Rüchle,I. Hand,A. König,N. Münchau,H Hiss,C. Geiger-Kabisch,Christoph Käppler,P Schramm,E. Rey,J Aldenhoff,Mathias Berger +12 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that BT should be combined with fluvoxamine when obsessions dominate the clinical picture and when a secondary depression is present.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of Group Psychotherapy, Individual Counseling, Methylphenidate, and Placebo in the Treatment of Adult Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder A Randomized Clinical Trial
Alexandra Philipsen,Alexandra Philipsen,Thomas Jans,Erika Graf,Swantje Matthies,Patricia Borel,Michael Colla,Michael Colla,Laura Gentschow,Laura Gentschow,Daina Langner,Daina Langner,Christian Jacob,Silke Groß-Lesch,Esther Sobanski,Barbara Alm,Martina Schumacher-Stien,Michael Roesler,Wolfgang Retz,Wolfgang Retz,Petra Retz-Junginger,Bernhard Kis,Mona Abdel-Hamid,V. Heinrich,Michael Huss,Catherine Kornmann,Arne Bürger,Evgeniy Perlov,Gabriele Ihorst,Michael Schlander,Mathias Berger,Ludger Tebartz van Elst +31 more
TL;DR: Psychological interventions resulted in better outcomes during a 1-year period when combined with methylphenidate as compared with placebo and highly structured group intervention did not outperform individual CM with regard to the primary outcome.
Journal ArticleDOI
Trimipramine in Primary Insomnia: Results of a Polysomnographic Double-Blind Controlled Study
Dieter Riemann,Ulrich Voderholzer,Stefan Cohrs,Andrea Rodenbeck,Goeran Hajak,E. Rüther,Michael H. Wiegand,Gregor Laakmann,Thomas C. Baghai,W. Fischer,M. Hoffmann,Fritz Hohagen,Geert Mayer,Mathias Berger +13 more
TL;DR: This first double-blind placebo-controlled study with trimipramine suggests its efficacy in the treatment of primary insomnia, however, due to the large intra- and interindividual variance in the parameters of interest before and during treatment a larger sample size would have been necessary to strengthen the validity of the findings.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adenosine A2b receptors mediate an increase in interleukin (IL)-6 mRNA and IL-6 protein synthesis in human astroglioma cells.
TL;DR: The results indicate that adenosine A2b receptors participate in the regulation of the IL‐6 gene in astrocytoma cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Theory of mind deficits in chronically depressed patients
Ingo Zobel,Doris Werden,Hans Wolfgang Linster,Petra Dykierek,Tobias Drieling,Mathias Berger,Elisabeth Schramm +6 more
TL;DR: Compared the ToM performance of chronically depressed patients with a healthy control group and to clarify the relation of ToM to other cognitive functions, patients with chronic depression present significant deficits in "reading” social interactions, which may be associated with general cognitive impairments.
