Journal ArticleDOI
On the Impact of Contact Selectivity and Charge Transport on the Open‐Circuit Voltage of Organic Solar Cells
TL;DR: In this article, the authors show that for photoactive layers with poor transport properties, the gradient of the quasi-Fermi energy in the vicinity of the contact is the main contribution to the loss in open-circuit voltage.
Journal ArticleDOI
How Molecules with Dipole Moments Enhance the Selectivity of Electrodes in Organic Solar Cells - A Combined Experimental and Theoretical Approach
Uli Würfel,Uli Würfel,Martin Seßler,Moritz Unmüssig,Nils Hofmann,Mathias List,Eric Mankel,Thomas Mayer,Günter Reiter,Jean-Luc Bubendorff,L. Simon,Markus Kohlstädt +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a combination of currentvoltage curves, scanning Kelvin-probe atomic force microscopy, ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy, and electroluminescence measurements as well as numerical simulations are carried out to clarify in detail the underlying mechanisms.
Journal ArticleDOI
Correct determination of charge transfer state energy from luminescence spectra in organic solar cells.
TL;DR: This work reports on drastic changes of electroluminescence spectra of bulk heterojunction organic solar cells upon variation of the absorber layer thickness and shows that the reliable spectra can only be obtained by a correction of the device-specific out-coupling effect.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ultralow Friction of Steel Surfaces Using a 1,3-Diketone Lubricant in the Thin Film Lubrication Regime
Ke Li,Ke Li,Tobias Amann,Mathias List,Michael Walter,Michael Moseler,Andreas Kailer,Jürgen Rühe +7 more
TL;DR: The results of the experiments suggest that 1,3-diketones are promising lubricants to achieve a decrease of energy loss and frictional damage in steel based mechanical devices.
Journal ArticleDOI
A 1 cm2 Organic Solar Cell with 15.2% Certified Efficiency: Detailed Characterization and Identification of Optimization Potential
Uli Würfel,Uli Würfel,Jan Herterich,Mathias List,Jared Faisst,Fahmid Matin Bhuyian,Hans-Frieder Schleiermacher,Klara T. Knupfer,Birger Zimmermann +8 more
