Journal ArticleDOI
Anticancer Agents, 15. Squaric Acid Diethyl Ester: A New Coupling Reagent for the Formation of Drug Biopolymer Conjugates. Synthesis of Squaric Acid Ester Amides and Diamides
Lutz F. Tietze,Michael Arlt,Matthias Beller,Karl‐Heinz Gl üsenkamp,Eckhard Jähde,Manfred F. Rajewsky +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the reaction of squaric acid diethyl esters with a slight excess of a primary or secondary amine 2 in ethanol, dichloromethane or aqueous buffer (pH 7) at 20°C for 03-12 h was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development of Tailor-Made Cytostatics Activable by Acid-Catalyzed Hydrolysis for Selective Tumor Therapy†
Lutz F. Tietze,Matthias Beller,Roland Fischer,Michael Lögers,Eckhard Jähde,Karl-Heinz Glüsenkamp,Manfred F. Rajewsky +6 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Glycosidation, X. Synthesis of glycoconjugates of acetal-glycosides with lysine and tripeptides for selective cancer therapy
TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis of a new class of cytotoxic aldehydes with a COOH functionalised spacer and their connection to a lysine derivative 13 and a tripeptide 25 is described.
Journal ArticleDOI
Glycosidation, 13; anticancer agents, 10. Novel stable bioactivated cyclophosphamide derivatives for selective cancer chemotherapy, synthesis of aldophosphamide acetal-glycosides and their glycoconjugates
TL;DR: Stimulation of tumor cell glycolysis in vivo leads to an increase of lactic acid formation and thus a decrease of pH in malignant tissue compared with a normal cell population and the difference in pH may be used to cleave a nontoxic prodrug selectively in a tumor to give a highly cytotoxic compound.
