Evidence and consensus based guideline for the management of delirium, analgesia, and sedation in intensive care medicine. Revision 2015 (DAS-Guideline 2015) – short version
DAS-Taskforce,Ralf Baron,Andreas Binder,R. Biniek,Stephan Braune,Hartmut Buerkle,Peter Dall,Sueha Demirakca,Rahel Eckardt,Verena Eggers,Ingolf Eichler,Ingo Fietze,Stephan Freys,Andreas Fründ,Lars Garten,Bernhard Gohrbandt,Irene Harth,Wolfgang H. Tonner,Uwe Trieschmann,Michael Tryba,Frank Wappler,Christian Waydhas,Bjoern Weiss,Guido Weisshaar +49 more
TL;DR: This publication is a comprehensive, interdisciplinary, evidence and consensus-based set of level 3 guidelines for intensive care medicine, designed for all ICU professionals, and takes into account all critically ill patient populations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Recombinant human deoxyribonuclease shortens ventilation time in young, mechanically ventilated children
Joachim Riethmueller,Thomas Borth-Bruhns,Matthias Kumpf,Reinhard Vonthein,Jakub Wiskirchen,Martin Stern,Michael Hofbeck,Winfried Baden +7 more
TL;DR: It is found that dornase alfa was beneficial and safe, and possibly of value from the first day of mechanical ventilation onward, particularly when longer ventilation is expected in fluid‐restricted children after cardiac surgery.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nurse-driven pediatric analgesia and sedation protocol reduces withdrawal symptoms in critically ill medical pediatric patients.
Felix Neunhoeffer,Matthias Kumpf,Hanna Renk,Malte Hanelt,Nicole Berneck,Axel Bosk,Ines Gerbig,Ellen Heimberg,Michael Hofbeck +8 more
TL;DR: There is still little evidence of clinical use of analgesia and sedation protocols and the impact on withdrawal symptoms in critically ill children, and several guidelines and protocols are developed and implemented for adults.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of imaging techniques in the diagnosis of bridging bronchus
Winfried Baden,Jürgen F. Schaefer,Matthias Kumpf,N. Tzaribachev,T. Pantalitschka,A. Koitschev,Gerhard Ziemer,Joerg Fuchs,Michael Hofbeck +8 more
TL;DR: Bronchoscopy was helpful in the description of the severity and length of bronchial stenoses, but it was not possible to establish a diagnosis of BB based on this method in two patients, since it was difficult or even impossible to differentiate the bifurcation from the pseudocarina.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical and in vitro effect of dornase alfa in mechanically ventilated pediatric non-cystic fibrosis patients with atelectases.
Joachim Riethmueller,Matthias Kumpf,Thomas Borth-Bruhns,Wolfgang Brehm,Jakub Wiskirchen,Ludger Sieverding,Cosima Ankele,Michael Hofbeck,Winfried Baden +8 more
TL;DR: Intratracheal instillation of rhDNase is an effective adjunct to conservative therapy of atelectases in children and further randomized controlled prospective studies are necessary.
