Journal ArticleDOI

Use of surfactants as plasticizers in preparing solid dispersions of poorly soluble API: selection of polymer-surfactant combinations using solubility parameters and testing the processability.

TL;DR: Thermal analysis of the API-polymer-surfactant blends suggested that the surfactants caused solvation/plasticization, manifesting in reduction of the melting of API and T(m) of polymers and the combined T(g) of the solid dispersion formed from quench cooling.
Journal ArticleDOI

Use of surfactants as plasticizers in preparing solid dispersions of poorly soluble API: stability testing of selected solid dispersions.

TL;DR: By and large, the surfactants appear to be promising plasticizers to produce solid dispersions by hot melt extrusion, in so doing improving dissolution rate without compromising the physical stability of the systems.
Journal ArticleDOI

Design and process aspects of laboratory scale SCF particle formation systems.

TL;DR: The various stages of particle formation by supercritical fluid processing can be broadly classified into delivery, reaction, pre-expansion, expansion and collection, and the importance of each of these processes in tailoring the particle morphology is discussed in this article along with presenting various alternatives to perform these operations.

Preparation of pharmaceutical compositions containing nanoparticles

TL;DR: In this article, materials and methods for preparing pharmaceutical nanoparticle suspensions or dispersions, granulations and dosage forms are disclosed, which employ a modular high-pressure spray homogenizer coupled to a wet granulator to form stabilized nanoparticle suspension and granulations.

Pharmaceutical compositions of amorphous atorvastatin and process for preparing same

TL;DR: In this paper, solid pharmaceutical compositions containing amorphous atorvastatin are disclosed, which include a solid dispersion of amorphized atorvicastatin and one or more optional pharmaceutically acceptable excipients.
